Every Body Can look great in bathing suit

Every woman wants to feel thin and shapely, especially in a bathing suit. There is no reason why any woman has to feel self-conscious about revealing her body at the pool or on the beach if she has a suit with the right style and cut.

Choosing the right swimsuit for your figure can be tricky, but certainly not impossible. Before purchasing a swimsuit it is important to determine what you plan to do in your swimsuit, as in tan or swim laps? Will you be tanning a lot? You may want something cute and glamorous to wear around at pool parties and beach bonfires?? There are many varieties of styles that cater to each purpose as each of these scenarios can affect the performance of the bathing suit.

Athletic bathing suits usually involve higher concentrations of synthetic material to withstand chlorine exposure and perspiration. The suit provides more flexibility around the joints involved in making high-powered movements becoming more like a second layer of skin as it molds into the body and around the muscles without being restrictive. Athletic bathing suits can be made in two-pieces with extra firming fabric around the "looser. People find that athletic swimsuits are highly useful for swimming laps or playing beach volleyball. Even non-athletes can sometimes prefer athletic swimsuits for their unparalleled flexibility and simple cuts.

For leisure activities, such as sun-tanning or pool parties, the look of the swimsuit is more important than anything. If you were looking to tan you would probably prefer a swimsuit that is more revealing and exposes all but the necessary areas. Lightweight fabrics provide breath-ability and a sometimes have reflective properties can help keep you from sweating through your sunscreen. Bathing suits in bejeweled colors, innovative textures and accessories serve glamorous purposes that are appropriate for the classiest affairs. New design standards for one pieces create cuts that enhance certain areas. For example, a sweetheart-curved chest hem adds extra lift to provide more cleavage. Your figure can have a certain "je ne sais quoi" because of the little details of a bathing suit.

But more important than a good-looking bathing suit is an even better-looking body! Compression fabrics that are now being implemented into modern bathing suits give derrieres an extra lift and make tummies look flatter. A one-piece that cinches around the waist or a two-piece that enhances your bottom are two of the endless variety of colorful and stylish bathing suits that will compliment every body shape for all occasions.

How to Wear Pantyhose for Spring

Pantyhose may seem like a counter intuitive article of clothing to wear in the spring, but rest assured, they can look just as stylish under skirts and shorts as they do in the winter. Just do some strategic accessorizing with the other clothes in your closet.

The nylon in pantyhose will cause them to mold to your body shape. Don't be fooled by their sheer quality and thinness because pantyhose are actually very good in retaining heat and keeping your legs warm. This is why many women choose to wear them in the winter under dresses, skirts and shorts, as well as with boots and heels; pantyhose are able to provide them with flexibility under bulky winter clothes while remaining warm.

Many women think they have to lock up and stow away their pantyhose when spring arrives, but this is not the case. Pantyhose look good as well as warming your legs! While many women have multiple pairs of nude-colored pantyhose, they actually come in several colors that can be coordinated with various outfits as a stylish accessory. There are also patterned styles that can be worn under simple skirts and shorts to accentuate one’s legs upon the blooming of flowers and nature.

Birthstones, a perfect gift

The origin of the birthstones dates back to the Indian and Babylonian civilization. They have been associated with magical properties.

The origin of the birthstones dates back to the Indian and Babylonian civilization. They have been associated with magical properties. In different civilizations, they have been traditionally associated with different months. It is believed that these stones neutralize the ill effects of a planet symbolizing each month of a calendar.

The study of the Vedic astrological gemstones was started in India. Here, gemology is considered as a science and the prescription of birthstone is done not solely on the month of someone’s birth. The present position of planets also plays an important role in the prescription of these stones. The gemstones are prescribed in accordance to the earth’s chemistry and physics.

According to the Judaism and Christianity, the twelve stones in the great breastplate of Jewish High Priest gave rise to the birthstones by month. Nowadays, different people wear birthstones for different reasons. Some wear them because of the beauty of these stones while others prefer the birthstones by month to get a specific identity.

The birthstones not only represent the birth month of a person but also the nature and personality of the individual. In today’s world, they are used as a self statement or fashion symbol. They can be used in a ring, pendant, earring or a bracelet. These days a solitaire ring or pendant with a gemstone is quite popular among youth. These gemstones come in various shapes such as oval, solid squares, rectangle bricks and heart shapes. Mostly, people wear these birthstones in silver or gold jewellery. People also go for these stones to get health benefits such as to cure sleeplessness and headache.

Jewellery with gemstones looks great and can symbolize the union of two hearts. It can be the best option to celebrate birthday, valentine day or anniversaries. Here’s a list of significant birthstones for a specific month. Have a look -

January: Garnet

February: Amethyst

March: Aquamarine

April: Diamond

May: Emerald

June: Pearl

July: Ruby

When buying a piece of jewellery, one should look for the four Cs - Carats, Clarity, Cut and Colour. Looking at the place of origin, current fashion, possible treatments and availability can ensure you in getting the best kind of gemstones.

The birthstones by months provide luck, good health and protection from evil. People believe the birthstones possess healing as well as special properties along with providing physical, emotional and spiritual energy. A red ruby signifies the fiery and passionate personality of a wearer while the blue sapphire implies the cool headed quality of a person. “We only keep what we give away” - Deepak Chopra

I love this dress but it is so tight! I didn't try it on when I bought it [i actually abhor that entire process] but I was into a serious surprise when I put this on and checked myself in the mirror at work. I didn't know H&M sold freakum dresses so this item will definitely be places in the back of the closet.... or maybe worn to a non-work or church function. ( ._.)

I've always been blessed to work at establishments with amazing mirrors in the bathroom. Bathroom breaks are that much more enjoyable.

I am in California...

Thus the silence. :)

I am currently on the west coast with my aunt (who also was part of my London adventure) hanging and helping out with extended family as they go through some medical stuff. I'll probably be returning next week and can't wait to share some of the photos and fun moments from the trip. Your prayers for everyone involved are appreciated and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by... :)

I actually really, really, really love this floral dress shirt. Its the most tailored, well-fitting shirt I've ever owned. My dad bought it for me when I was high school because, at the time, he thought I dressed to scandalous and just wanted to cover me up in more modest apparel. Who knew that this shirt and I would still be in good company 9 years later. I feel as though I created my own vintage item. O_o

Of course, the leopard flats have absolutely nothing to do with the top portion of my body but... I really wanted to wear them. I thought the mixed prints were fun.

this is my i-have-to-hurry-up-because-all-these-people-on-the-train-must-think-i'm-super-weird-for-taking-pictures-right-now face. LOL. Have a wonderful weekend!

“What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Although I started my the day in my favorite brown, worn down oxfords... walking 1.8 miles in the city proved how uncomfortable they were. I ended up finding these cute sandals at a Claire's in Union Station and made a quick switch.

FYI. If you're ever in DC and want to see an independent film or a limited release film, E-Street Cinema is the way to go. I was too excited to get to the new adaptation of Jane Eyre and the posters for my favorite independent projects scattered all around the venue. I can't wait to see Bill Cunningham New York next week :)

They, actually, didn't turn out to be much comfortable either :(

Instead I was up last night snapping random pics of 2nd-day hair.

Why am I in this hotel room alone?

Flare Everywhere

We've been in skinny jeans for so long that I can't even remember when the trend began. With the nostalgia of the 60s and 80s already impacting the fashion industry these past few years, I knew it was just a matter of time before the 70s began to infiltrate. Welcome back the flared leg pant!!

To be honest, on most of us, flares and wide-leg pants are way more flattering than skinny jeans, particularly in warmer weather when boots are an impossibility. Flare and wide leg pants tend to hit the highs of your figure with a flattering waist and wide legs and promise to bring a sleek, sophisticated new-season look. The can’t-go-wrong menswear-style trousers are inspired by the style of fashion icons such as Marlene Dietrich and Katherine Hepburn. Here are a couple of pants and jeans that I've been able to find online:

Gap Flare Leg Jeans - $69.90
Gap Trouser Jeans - $69.50
Gap Long and Lean Jeans - $59.50

Remember, Gap tends to have amazing sales both online and in stores. I got my favorite wide legged denim pants from them about 5 years ago [originally $59.50 but bought on sale for $19.99] and they look EXACTLY the same as when I go them.

ASOS Berry Flared Jeans - $50.20
Madewell Widelegger - $125.00
J Brand Kiki High-Rise Flare Jeans - $203

Forever21 Herringbone Wide Leg Pants - $24.00
Asos Warehouse Wide Leg Pants - $80.69
Asos Oasis High Waist peg Pants - $80.69

Equally confident and elegant, high-waisted flare pants are kind to every figure with slimming pinstripes, a flattering high waist and wide flared legs that balance hips. They always match with silk blouses, boyfriend blazers and technicolor shirts. Dress them up for evening with chunky platforms or heels.

Here are few fun styling ideas from Chictopia:

  • To go for a complete ‘70s look, pair your flared jeans or trousers with wedges, platforms or clogs. Take note that a slightly pointed toe will give you a better line than a rounded one, in order to continue the idea of length.
  • Pair with tops that are tucked in with a sleek, skinny belt for a more waist-defining look. Wear them with sheer & chiffon tops that flow just right for a polished look.
  • Update your look by wearing your easy flares with a crisp blazer.
  • Try a floppy hat & some oversized ‘70s sunglasses for a bohemian look.
  • If worn right, petite women can use flares to their advantage. Make sure to buy your flared friends at a floor-sweeping length so you can hide your sky-est high heels underneath!
  • For women who are top-heavy, flares are great for balancing out to give a more hour-glass look, giving a poised silhouette.
  • The ‘70s high-waist style can give the impression of a slimmer stomach & narrower hips. If bought in the perfect size, you can say goodbye to your muffin tops!

Happy Flaring, Everyone!!
