For Love & Lemons Fall 2010

I utterly adore the "For Love and Lemons" Fall 2010 collection, with sheer blacks and buckled details.... I'm especially lusting over the Wednesday Mesh Maxi Skirt, it just needs to be in my wardrobe ♥

For Love & Lemons is an up-and-coming line by the talented designers Gillian Mahin and Laura Hall.

Mixed Media Girls ♥

I really love NIKKI FARQUHARSON's experimental illustrations with coloured pens and found imagery, she has a unique style that I would describe as a modern look on Graphic Pop Art, with intriguing use of text, media and shapes.... her work is a joy to look through.

The way Raf Simons tells it, he was sitting around with his team discussing the new minimalism and that got him thinking about its inverse, maximalism, which led him instantly to haute couture.

Backstage after her show, Consuelo Castiglioni seemed particularly happy with the collection she had just sent out. She felt she'd delivered the goods for the kind of self-possessed modern woman who would relish the Marni mandate

"It's a trip," Angela Missoni declared, as she breezed through a backstage area choked with acid colors and tribal shapes.
"Shake your rump," "Let your backbone slip," and "Get up off that thing" were used as a running Jenny Holzer-like visual element in multi-striped tops and jackets.

Putting this new reggie to the test!

I washed my hair LATE on Thursday night. There was no way I could wear my "straight" hair any longer. It had pretty much gotten to the point where there was no controlling it. So after a quick trip to Target and then to Sally Beauty Supply, I was ready to begin my new regimen.

First I separated my hair into four sections and then sprayed each section with a mixture of Suave Naturals conditioner (Fresh Mountain Strawberry) and spring water.

I have NEVER had an easier time detangling my hair! It was AMAZING! I didn't have to get my hair soaking wet either--just a little damp. There was barely any hair on my comb once I was done! I braided each section to keep my hair tangle-free.

Then I clarified my hair with Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo (though I don't know why anyone would want to clarify her hair daily!) I decided to purchase a clarifying shampoo because I really wanted to rid my hair of any buildup, especially since my hair was straight and I had been using a silicone-heavy heat protectant.

I was going to buy Neutrogena, but it turns out their clarifying shampoo contains glycerin, and my hair can take none of that, not even in a shampoo! I put the shampoo directly on the braid, then loosened each braid to massage my scalp and get my hair really clean (just like MopTop Maven did in her video featured in this post).

I rinsed my hair until it was squeaky clean (literally) and then followed up with a final cold-water rinse. I dried my hair for a few minutes by putting a t-shirt over it, and then a towel on top of the t-shirt.

I was starting to get really tired...

Finally once my hair was pretty dry, I applied deep conditioner section-by-section. I used Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque and then braided my hair into 4 sections.

By this time it was 11:30PM so I wrapped my hair in Saran wrap and went to bed.

I woke up the next day and rinsed the deep conditioner out in the shower. I didn't use the shower comb at all, just my fingers. After rinsing, I left Aphogee 2min Keratin in my hair for about 5 minutes and rinsed out.

I applied all the product in sections and rinsed in sections too. Then I braided up my hair again and towel dried it. Once out of the shower, I applied about a quarter-sized amount of Roux Porosity Control conditioner to each of the four sections.

My hair felt like there was gel in it...I don't know to explain it. I left the conditioner in for about 4 or 5 minutes and then rinsed with coooooold water. My hair felt really smooth and strong! My "curl pattern" was also really defined Finally I was done! I used a new product I picked Thursday night at Target: Shea Moisture Curl & Style Conditioning Milk.

I used it as a leave-in and then sealed my ends with EVCO. I'm going to start using the Conditioning Milk the same way I would use LTR (I'll let you know how I like it). I set my hair on Long and Narrow Curlformers with Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion, not aloe vera gel (I want to see if it gets the job done).

I'm exhausted, LOL.

I'll let you know how the new regimen works, and hopefully my hair is completely dry when I take out these Curlformers! Good night!!!!
